Using tar and nc instead of scp

server:

tar cvf - MY_DIR | nc -l PORT



client:

nc IP PORT | tar xvf -

Running vim without any configuration

Lots of people use a very huge config for vim. It makes me suck.


vim -u NONE



allows you to run an original version of vim, it's pretty useful especially temporarily working on other people's vim.
